 ETHICAL BUSINESS LEADERSHIP CENTRE

St Augustine’s CEBL aims to contribute through acting as a forum for debate and discussion, research and the provision of educational programmes aimed specifically at building capacity in the field of business ethics.

At this critical juncture in the history of our country, leadership that recognises the dignity of the human purpose and promotes the common good is in high demand.

 

Inspired by the values of Catholic Social Teaching, St Augustine’s CEBL aims to contribute through acting as a forum for debate and discussion, research and the provision of educational programmes aimed specifically at building capacity in the field of business ethics.

​

The CEBL aims to provide a forum for discussion and debate about ethical issues as they affect business in South Africa. Apart from guest lectures, the CEBL also aims to host an annual conferences and develop training in ethics for the business community.

Elizabeth Maepa

Patron

Elizabeth Maepa is responsible for all talent related functions of Sifiso Learning Group including recruitment strategy and appointment of key personnel. She holds a B Comm degree and various other certificates in Leadership and Management through local and overseas institutions.

​

Elizabeth was FirstRand Limited’s Group Human Resources Executive, a function that she established and managed for five years. During this period, she launched the FirstRand Accelerated Development Programme (ADP) which focuses on providing talented senior managers with the requisite theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the critical areas of managing a banking business.

​

Elizabeth serves on various Trusts whose main focus is in education. These include the FirstRand Foundation and the FirstRand Empower Foundation.

​

She also sits on the Wits Business School Advisory Board and on the University of KZN Staffing Committee. Elizabeth is also member of the Board at St Augustine College.

Lawerence Ndlovu

Director

Lawrence Mduduzi Ndlovu is a Soweto born Catholic Cleric, Lecturer, writer, poet, Author speaker and arts enthusiast. As a writer he has contributed for several publications through his columns on Spotlight Africa and The Daily Maverick. He has also written for The Thinker, The Huffington Post, News 24, The Southern Cross, The South African and Destiny Magazines.

​

Lawrence read philosophy and theology at St John Vianney Seminary Pretoria, Heythrop College, University of London and the Bellarmine Institute in London. He is a lecturer in theology department at St Augustine College of South Africa. He is a trustee of the St Augustine Education Foundation Trust and an Advisory Council Member of the Southern Cross Weekly.

​

He was listed by the Mail and Guardian in the South African top 200 young South Africans list 2016. He is also the recipient of the 2016 Youth Trailblazer Award for his outstanding contribution in youth development from the Gauteng Provincial Government.
